Building Emotional Literacy and self-regulation in our young people. Teacher PD

As well as learning about the science behind emotional intelligence, you will have the opportunity to use innovative and engaging strategies to engage your students in learning how to identify their own emotions in this PL.

This will help students to lay the foundations needed for the regulation of their own thinking, behaviour and learning. Self-confidence and self-efficacy will also be developed, which as we know are essential ingredients for health, happiness and successful learning.

  • Support students to identify, communicate and manage their emotions.
  • Understand that behaviors are usually a student trying to express a need that they don’t know how to communicate.
  • Tools and techniques to build trust and report with a young person
  • Tools and techniques on how to work with a dysregulated young person
  • High impact learning for students combining explicit instruction, experiential learning, and higher-order thinking
  • Tools to empower your students with life skills of wellbeing
